However, it’s looking like the track is already rubbered down or at least real close.
(10:25 p.m.) It is windy and the radar doesn’t look good. The officials just cut the laps for the 305 feature, which has been on the track for the last 15 minutes without much progress.
The 360 drivers are getting in their cars and ready to stage. Hopefully we can get this in before a storm.

(6:13 p.m.) There are 40 sprints in the 360 class here tonight. So that’ll make five, eight-lap heat races. The winners plus the next 11 in points — passing and finishing — advance to the 20-lap feature.
The top eight will be in a redraw to determine the first four rows of the feature. The drivers who failed to qualify will compete in a 12-lap B Main, which will transfer the top six to the back of the main event.
(5:48 p.m.) Time for the driver’s meeting.
(4:35 p.m.) There are about 25 sprint cars here for the first night of the 33rd annual Jackson Nationals.
The weather is a little more cloudy and about 75 degrees with a slight breeze.
They just opened the pit booth and the driver’s meeting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. with hot laps around 7 p.m.
I’ll post another update about the format and lineup after the meeting.
(12:59 p.m.) The weather looks great and the competition should be stout here in Minnesota for the first of the two-day Jackson Nationals featuring the ASCS National Tour.
It is in the 70s with few clouds. And the chance of precipitation is slim to none.
I will head over to the track in a couple of hours, so I’ll post more once I’m settled in the pits. Stay tuned for live updates throughout the night, including heat race and main event lineups and results.
