Lasoski press release 10-9

Inside Line Promotions – GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Oct. 9) – The first time Danny Lasoski raced at Valley Speedway, he charged from 16th to claim an impressive victory.

On Friday, Lasoski returned to the semi-banked, 1/3-mile dirt oval located in Grain Valley, Mo. – approximately a half hour from his home. After earning his way into the redraw and pulling the No. 2 to start the ASCS Warrior Region feature on the outside of the front row, Lasoski found a new way to impress the crowd.

On a dry, dry track, Lasoski twice took the lead only to have it wiped out by a caution. However, he rallied past fellow veteran Wayne Johnson out of turn four as the duo was shown the white flag.

“I just had to time it because he was doing the right thing and blocking my line down the backstretch, forcing me to whoa up,” Lasoski said.

Lasoski held on for the victory, which was his 10th of the season and first driving for Mark Burch Motorsports.

“It’s very special for me,” he said. “It’s an honor to drive for Mark.”

With three top fives in as many races this season with Mark Burch Motorsports, Lasoski was on a mission from the start of his heat race. He worked his way from sixth to third in the first three laps before picking up another position two laps later. Lasoski then chased down Randy Martin, who had a straightaway advantage once Lasoski was in second place.

Martin held on for the heat win and Lasoski finished second, which made him the high-point’s driver in the redraw. The duo then started on the front row of the 25-lap feature as Martin plucked the No. 1 with Lasoski on the outside.

“Preferably, being on the inside would have been the way to start, but that’s the way it works out,” Lasoski said. “We got lucky to start on the front row.”

A loose race car hampered Lasoski during the first half of the main event as he slid back to fourth at one point. However, as the fuel load wore off, Lasoski worked forward. He was back up to second with approximately 10 laps remaining before a slew of late cautions jumbled the finish.

Lasoski then changed his line to slide side-by-side with Johnson on the bottom of turns one and two before going up to the top of the track in turns three and four. Two times Lasoski pulled into the lead off turn four only to see a caution restart the field with him in second.

The third time was the charm as he again inched into the lead at the flagstand as the duo saw the white flag. Lasoski dropped to the bottom in turns one and two, and maintained the top in the final turns to record the win.
