Inside Line Promotions - FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (June 4, 2013) - The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is set to debut at I-94 Speedway on Saturday, June 22, as part of the Gerdau Northern Tour.
It will mark the inaugural stop for the premier sprint car series at the 3/8-mile oval, where defending World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz raced approximately 20 years ago.
"Not since about '93 or '94," Schatz said of his last appearance. "I hear a lot of good things about it from the racers who race stock cars up here."
The track is located only an hour from Fargo, N.D., where the five-time series champion was born.
"I remember it being a nice facility then," he said. "It had a pretty good bank to it and there was a lot of excitement for sure."
I-94 Speedway will be the fourth track that the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is making its inaugural visit to this season.
